If you've been daydreaming about a European escape, let us be the first to tell you that you should absolutely make that dream a reality. And, thanks to travel booking site Skyscanner's new report on the latest trends, we can also share there's one destination in particular that's ultra-affordable right now, and it's a spot that always dazzles.

In October, Skyscanner released its annual report on the latest trends shaping the industry and traveler behavior, "Travel Trends 2025: The search for community and collective experiences." The report, Skyscanner explained, blends proprietary data based on millions of searches with a specially commissioned survey of more than 20,000 travelers (2,000 Americans) along with additional expert insights. As part of the report, Skyscanner shared the top 10 trending destinations and top 10 best-value destinations.

As for where Americans can go for less, Nice, France, showed the largest airfare price drop from the U.S. over the last year. And it's by no means an insignificant drop at that, at 27 percent.

The report noted that despite the stagnant global economy, Americans are still prioritizing travel — they are just getting smarter about how they spend on those adventures.

"When choosing where to go, cost still plays the most important part for many U.S. travelers," the report stated. "The top cost factors Americans are weighing to determine a vacation destination are the cost of the flight (51 percent), hotel (50 percent), and food and drink (34 percent). "

Truly, Nice is worth saving up for as a vacation destination. The seaside city is packed with adorable cafes serving the perfect French croissant, the beaches are lined with over-the-top luxury hideaways, the stores all sell the coolest souvenirs on the planet, and the vibes are simply, overall, immaculate. And oh-so-chic. Not to mention that La Compagnie — voted Travel + Leisure readers' favorite international airline in T+L’s 2023 World’s Best Awards — offers nonstop, all lay-flat flights between New York and Nice, making getting there both easy and comfortable.

And, as the Skyscanner report noted, smaller, alternative destinations are "growing in popularity with U.S. travelers, who are looking to explore beyond the mainstream in the Americas and abroad," making Nice the perfect choice over more well-traveled parts of France like Paris. Nice also answers the next part of Skyscanner's report, which states, "Many of the trending destinations show Americans are looking for their vacations to provide an opportunity for relaxation, which for many means an escape from the corporate grind. Feeling burnt out from work, Americans are seeking destinations where they can get out in nature – whether that be relaxing on a beach, hiking a mountain, or stargazing. Getting back to nature is the respite Americans are after in 2025."

Other spots to make the list of more affordable destinations include Castries, St. Lucia, which saw a 25 percent price drop; Bridgetown, Barbados, with a 24 percent price drop; Rabat, Morocco, with a 24 percent price drop; and Fargo, North Dakota, U.S., which also saw a 24 percent price drop, proving there's something affordable for every kind of vacationer.
