I Walk 10,000+ Steps a Day in New York City, and These Comfy, Celeb-loved Sneakers Save My Feet

Before moving to New York City, I completely underestimated just how much I would be walking on a daily basis and the importance of having the appropriate footwear to do so. Even on days when I simply go to the office and back home, I can easily rack up over 10,000 steps. After the first few months here, my feet were tired. However, almost two years later, I now like to consider myself a seasoned pro when it comes to finding the perfect everyday footwear for walkable cities. 

When I first started my search for finding a sneaker with great support, I needed something that was both comfortable but would also go with a variety of outfits. Sometimes, I prefer to not compromise my style for comfort, so when I found the New Balance 530 shoes, I was pleasantly surprised. The brand has been having a big moment lately for their footwear (even celebrities love them), and I can absolutely see why. If I have a day of errands or a planned hot girl walk, I grab these New Balance shoes for their all-day comfort and effortless style.

These New Balance sneakers are so comfortable thanks to the brand’s special “Abzorb” foam cushioning which supports your feet and absorbs any impact. The body of the shoe is made from a breathable mesh that helps your feet stay cool throughout the day. I’ve loved wearing these throughout the summer, and I’ve actively noticed the difference the mesh makes in comparison to some of my other athletic shoes; plus, the soles help me feel light on my feet.

The brand may have been known for their “dad shoes” at one point, but their recent designs have shown that New Balance knows how to refresh a product in ways that everyone will admire. The New Balance 530 is the perfect mix of contemporary and classic, and it’s also simple enough so it can work with almost any everyday outfit that you’d like to pair it with. The style currently comes in a few different colors, including options with touches of green, yellow, or red. I’ve grown to be rather fond of my pair that has hints of green against an off-white base. The style is neutral enough to go with the majority of my clothing, but it also has that subtle pop of color to help it stand out.

Whether it be with a pair of running shorts and a sweatshirt or maybe a matching workout set, these are easy to throw on and quickly run out of the house without having to worry about if they fit the look. However, it can also be fun to pair these with something not as conventional. One of my favorite looks that I’ve styled these with included a gray blazer, a plain fitted tee, denim straight-leg jeans, and a baseball hat, and surprisingly, it worked. I’ve also seen these paired exceptionally well with dresses or skirts, along with dainty accessories. They’re the perfect pair of shoes to travel with simply because of their amazing versatility.
