The Paris Summer Olympics 2024 are finally here, featuring highly-anticipated performances from celebrated athletes like Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Coco Gauff, and many, many more. But it’s not just floor routines and relay races that have our eyes glued to our television screens for the two-week event — it’s also the fashion. Olympic uniforms are often a popular topic of conversation, whether it’s gymnastics leotards or Team USA’s opening ceremony looks. This year, we're paying closer attention to the footwear.

One item we spotted some Olympians wearing is one of our favorite pairs of travel shoes: Cariuma sneakers. Many pro skateboarders, like Team USA’s Jagger Eaton, have donned these sneakers while competing in the games. They’re loved by Travel + Leisure editors because of their comfortable and sleek design, making them a versatile shoe to take on vacation. This brand is also beloved by celebs, some of whom have even worn them on red carpets. And now, we can add Olympic athletes to Cariuma's list of star-studded fans.

Ahead, we rounded up some of the gold medal-worthy styles spotted at the events that you can snag for yourself.

Cariuma Vallely Sneakers

Cariuma Vallely White Premium Leather Grey

Cariuma

Seen on Eaton at the Olympics, these Vallely skate shoes are made with comfort in mind. They feature the brand’s signature sustainable cork and plant-based foam insole, as well as a slip-resistant rubber sole that's perfect for all-day walking and navigating wet or uneven surfaces (think: European cobblestone after the rain). The leather upper is also made to last (like all of Cariuma’s leather, it’s made from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries), and the shoes come in a variety of hues to match every outfit. Try the classic all-white shoe that you can wear with everything or the special-edition USA shoe worn by Eaton in Paris.

Cariuma Catiba Pro Low Sneakers

Off-White Vintage Gum/Black

Slovakia’s Riso Tury was seen wearing the Catiba canvas sneakers while competing. They feature a low-top style and canvas and suede upper, which many reviewers note contribute to the versatility of these shoes because you can wear them with just about anything: jeans, shorts, skirts, or dresses. You can sport the same all-black look as Tury, or opt for other colors like the off-white or gray and ivory shoe.

Cariuma Naioca Sneakers

Cariuma Naioca Off-White Vintage Gum Suede

Cariuma

The Naioca sneakers are a great option if you want a little more cushioning in your step as they have a bit of a thicker collar than other pairs. We spotted them on Gustavo Ribeiro, an Olympic skateboarder from Portugal, who wore a specially designed pair that has a touch of gold on the heel tab. The Naioca sneaker is available in different upper materials, including canvas, suede, or leather. Each features a variety of colors, too, so you can rock whatever style speaks to you the most.

Cariuma Salvas Sneakers

Slavas White LWG Leather/Ice

Cariuma

One of our favorite Cariuma shoes is the Salvas sneaker, which was seen on Dutch Olympic skateboarder Roos Zwetsloot who wore her own special pair inspired by the Netherlands' national flag while competing. We love these shoes for traveling because of the durable leather upper that’s comfortable and easy to keep clean. Plus, each pair has a mesh lining which helps keep your feet from getting hot and sweaty. They’re great for all types of weather conditions, whether rainy or humid, and they’ll be a perfect pick for long days of walking.
