When the nylon blend fabric got wet during our tests, it didn’t bunch or stretch in the body of the swimsuit, but we did need to adjust the straps for a tighter fit while in the water. In under an hour, the swimsuit fully air-dried and looked good as new without shrinking or stretching after we wore it. The fabric and stitching are high quality, and the cut is comfortable for lounging or swimming all day long — perfect to pack for a beach vacation.

If you’re in search of a simple and chic one-piece swimsuit, this elevated selection from Robin Piccone is a great option. While this swimsuit doesn’t have as many customizable options as the Andie one-piece, it still has helpful features like adjustable straps and removable padding. The fabric is the perfect thickness and is very supportive on its own, but we appreciate that the top of this one-piece has a built-in bra shelf for a range of bust sizes. The suit comes in seven sizes in classic colors like black, white, red, or navy blue, and runs true to size so order what you normally wear. The price point is a bit higher than our overall pick, but the high-quality materials and comfortable fit of this one-piece make it worth it for travelers with a slightly higher budget.

Everyone should have at least one swimsuit in their closet that is just as fashionable as it is functional like this one-piece from Farm Rio. It has a cut-out silhouette with the option to wear the suit with spaghetti shoulder straps or opt for a strapless look. Travel + Leisure editor Taylor Fox wore this one-piece on a trip to Miami and loved that it could be paired with a sarong or skirt to go from the beach to an oceanside restaurant for lunch. Whether Fox was in the water or lounging by the pool, the swimsuit fabric was soft and smooth, and stretchy enough that it didn't ride up too much. She wished the torso was a bit longer to match her frame, but the removable straps help support the chest to avoid any mishaps while swimming or walking.

Size-inclusive, buttery soft, and supportive, Adore Me created what Fox calls "the most comfortable two-piece swimsuit I have ever worn." The best part of this bikini set is that although it comes as a set, you can still choose sizes of the top and bottom separately to get the most customized fit possible. With cup sizes ranging from A to DDD (30 to 38 band sizes, too!) and bottom sizes going up to XL, the option to mix and match measurements made it easy (yes, easy) to shop for a swimsuit online.

Whether swimming in the ocean or relaxing on a pool lounge chair, Fox loved how lightweight the fabric remained when it was wet, and both pieces were plenty supportive for various activity levels. While Fox tested and loved the flattering high-waisted bottoms, there is an option to get a bikini bottom, too. Considering the quality, comfort, fit, and affordable price, Fox returned home from her trip and bought the suit in another color — a true testament to its value (if you weren't already sold yet).

Monday Swimwear is now my go-to brand for suits after I wore the Clovelly top and Argentina bottoms on a trip to Greece. I was initially skeptical of the underwire cups since I haven't loved that style in the past, but I was impressed with how supportive and discrete the underwire was right off the bat. The bottoms are high-waisted with a high hip cut and cheeky coverage, which I found to be flattering and comfortable without feeling bulky or frumpy. My favorite part of the swimsuit is that it's stylish but supportive enough to wear for activities like swimming in the ocean or pool. The only slight downside is that the sizing can be difficult, so I highly recommend using the size chart to find the right fit. Next time, I'll size up one for the top, but the size I initially got still worked well for me.

It comes with a sweetheart bikini top with push-up padding to complement the high-waisted bottoms with ruching in the bodice. With sizes ranging from XXS to 22 plus, there are eight sizes in between and an impressive 44 color options. The only downside to getting a bikini that comes in a set is that the top and bottom will be the same size, so you can’t mix and match the sizes. However, this set runs mostly true to size, leaning slightly toward the smaller end of the spectrum, so you may want to size up. The halter straps are adjustable which helps with tightening the top for extra support, and the ruched bodice has tummy control with a comfortable amount of compression. Note that the thicker nylon fabric takes a bit longer to dry.

Athleta managed to find the perfect balance between sporty and stylish with this triangle bikini top and matching full-coverage bottoms specifically designed for surfing, paddle boarding, or snorkeling. The recycled nylon fabric is thick and compressive with a near sports bra-like feel. The scoop neck top gives the bikini a stylish edge, but you may need to tighten it for extra support because of the deeper neckline. The criss-cross back tie is easy to adjust and loops in four different places in the back to add extra security for rigorous water activities, and the fabric is made with UPF 50+ sun protection. Although it’s designed to be quick-drying, we found that it took a few hours to dry completely. The brand has a solid reputation for quality, and the fabric and stitching of this suit matches that expectation, so we feel confident the bikini will have a long life span.

The top looks like a short-sleeve T-shirt with a front-tie detail offering complete and supportive bust coverage with slightly high-waisted bikini bottoms. Most notably, the premium feel of the micro nylon material and the durable construction of the top and bottom make this bikini set a standout option. The material feels thick yet lightweight, and we found that the texture and comfort don’t change regardless of whether the swimsuit is wet or dry. It may take a bit longer for the suit to dry because of the heavier fabric, but it’s worth it for the support and comfy compression it provides.

As someone who likes to bring multiple swimsuits on every trip, I love that this string bikini top and bottom from Aerie are easy to pack and can be styled in multiple different ways. I tied the top into a bandeau and scoop neck shape on a trip to Greece, and I was also able to turn the strings into shoulder straps when I needed more support for rigorous water activities like boating or snorkeling. Since the suit offers multiple styles in one, I can bring fewer swimsuits on every trip moving forward (saving me suitcase space). Plus, the fabric has UPF 50 sun protection built into the fabric, which helps for being out in the sun. I also love that you're able to mix and match Aerie swimsuits by purchasing each piece separately, so I got this scoop bikini top that matches the same bottoms.
