Charm, style, class, and almost too many hours of sunshine. Almost. That's how to best describe the idyllic Floridian town of Palm Beach. It's long been a destination known for its relaxing environment, thanks to the stunning beaches, upscale shopping down Worth Avenue, and vibrant local culture. But, perhaps the best part of a visit to Palm Beach is getting to check into one of its hotels which each offer their own take on either historic elegance or modern sophistication.

From architecture-forward spots like The Breakers to contemporary escapes like the White Elephant, visitors can easily find a hotel that suits their style best. Whether you’re looking for a spa day, a round of golf, a world-class meal, a getaway near all the hot spots, or just a place to lay your head, these hotels have it all.

Below, find 10 spectacular hotels to check into on your next visit to Palm Beach, based on our firsthand experience as well as winners from our prestigious World’s Best Awards and It List.

What We Like
  • The gorgeous welcome area, including lush gardens, makes you feel A-list right from check-in.

What to Consider
  • It's a luxury hotel, which means it comes with luxury pricing, too.

The Breakers Palm Beach, a World's Best Awards winner in 2023, is a luxurious, historic resort that you could easily mistake for an uppity, stuffy spot. However, this hotel, which opened in 1926, is as welcoming and as family-friendly as they come.

Located along a pristine private beach, the resort offers four pools to lounge by, 10 restaurants to dine in, 18 holes to play on, and one massive spa ready to indulge your every wellness whim. If you can, splurge on one of the bungalows for a private — and well-stocked — day in the sun.

The Colony Hotel

What We Like
  • Its charming pink color and fantastic location make it a must-stay.

What to Consider
  • It has more limited amenities compared to larger resorts.

The Colony Hotel is another T+L reader-loved spot, landing a place in the 2023 World's Best Awards. The boutique gem is well-known for its colorful (think: the perfect salmon pink) exterior and stylish interiors. Offering just 89 rooms and suites, each uniquely decorated, it's a spot where every guest is the star of the show.

Guests can kick it in their rooms (or one of its multi-room residences) by the glittering pool or dig into a meal at Swifty’s, which offers indoor-outdoor dining (pick outdoor, you're in Florida). While the hotel is absolutely adorable, one of its best aspects is its location, which is just steps away from some of the best shops on Worth Avenue, making it easy to shop up a storm and still carry all your bags back to your room. Want to relax on the beach instead? Just ask the hotel's beach butler to set up your chairs and umbrella.

“There was something about the Colony's pink and white facade against the blue sky and aquamarine waters that just felt so Florida to me when I spent a few nights in 2019. While much of the hotel's interior is lined with illustrations of jungle wildlife (think The White Lotus' opening theme), I learned on a tour of the property that each room and suite is decorated differently — some with stripes, some with florals, but all with cheerful pastels reminiscent of the Palm Beach landscape. My favorite thing about the hotel, though, is that it's just a block from both the beach and the shops of historic Worth Avenue.”

White Elephant Palm Beach

What We Like
  • It's a historic building with plenty of modern flair.

What to Consider
  • Its boutique size means fewer on-site amenities.

The White Elephant Palm Beach took home the number one spot on our Best Hotels in Florida list for the 2022 World's Best Awards, and also landed a spot on our It List in 2021. And with one glance, it's easy to see why so many people are obsessed with this place.

The boutique hotel has 32 rooms and suites to choose from, each offering high-end touches like L'Occitane beauty products and some with outdoor private spaces. The hotel's intimate atmosphere also ensures ultra-personalized service, including a pre-arrival concierge who can assist with all booking needs.

The Brazilian Court Hotel offers guests a soothing retreat in Palm Beach. The hotel surrounds a lush courtyard area, making it feel like your own little sanctuary from the rest of the world — and yes, it includes a pool and plush loungers. Its interiors are equally calming, with beautifully appointed rooms and suites decked out in neutral hues and lush emerald greens. When you're ready for a snack, head to Café Boulud, its on-site, award-winning restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

“The Brazilian Court sits on Florida's south Atlantic coast, but staying there felt, to me, like staying in the Rainforest. Various types of palms and other greenery surround the boutique Palm Beach hotel, evoking wild jungle vibes in the best way possible. In 2019, I stayed in a spacious one-bedroom suite with glamorous pool views and almost-views of nearby Worth Avenue — aka the supposed inspiration behind Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive. A highlight was dining at the on-property Café Boulud by Chef Daniel Boulud, where I enjoyed black squid ink-infused pasta.”

The hotel, which comes with 134 rooms and suites, sits directly on a private stretch of sand, ensuring its guests can always find a spot to pop up their beach umbrella.

Know Before You Go

Consider renting a car

The easiest way to get around Palm Beach is by having a car handy. This allows you to explore a few more of the area's beautiful beaches, get to the golf course with ease, and drive up and down the coast to visit all the region's top-notch seafood restaurants.

Expect warm weather year-round

It's Florida, which means the weather is almost always nice. That said, things can get rather toasty over the summer, so if you can, try to plot a visit for the area's shoulder seasons in early fall and late winter.

Remember that West Palm Beach and Palm Beach are two different places

Yes, they are right next door, and both have fabulous offerings, but just so you don't get confused — West Palm Beach and Palm Beach are two separate neighborhoods. The easiest way to tell the difference? West Palm Beach doesn't actually have a beach, as it's on the intercoastal. So, if you're at the ocean, you're in Palm Beach.

How We Chose These Hotels

Several of the hotels chosen for this story have earned spots on our World's Best Awards and It list, and many are also personal favorites of our editors. Writer Stacey Leasca has also visited the region several times — and now is a more frequent visitor thanks to her parents becoming newly minted snowbirds in the area. She also consulted family, friends, fellow writers, and yes, even her parents for their input, and researched guest reviews from a multitude of websites for others. And finally, as with all our hotel roundups, editors ensure all hotel recommendations we make align with our core T+L Hotel Values.
